Featuring Arinder Bhullar, where luxury meets tradition in a symphony of fashion and beauty

Renowned for their exquisite Indian couture, Arinder Bhullar seamlessly blends Eastern elegance with Western flair, crafting masterpieces that transcend time and culture.

Recently, I had the privilege of immersing myself in the enchanting realm of Arinder Bhullar at their exclusive showcase event in Leicester. Armed with my trusty RED Komodo 6K “crash camera”, I caught the essence of the evening, from the captivating couture to the radiant models who brought it to life.

Shooting handheld with a minimalistic rig (see kit list description below) and focusing manually on the lens focus ring, I could move quickly through the catwalk and backstage.

Shooting Tip // Rack Focus

When it comes to fashion photography, focus racking is a technique that can help you create stunning and dreamy shots. This technique involves selectively focusing on certain parts of the image while leaving other areas blurred. If you're shooting garments that are shiny or glimmering, playing with focus racking can be particularly effective. By blurring parts of the image, you can create a sense of movement and depth, which can help draw the viewer's eye to your subject. But don't worry if some of your shots turn out blurry – these can actually be useful in post-production. Using these blurry clips, you can create smooth and seamless transitions between shots, giving your final product a polished and professional look.

In the final short film, what transpired was nothing short of magic – a spontaneous dance of light and colour, weaving together moments of grace and sophistication. It is worth noticing the importance of storytelling and craftsmanship in fashion filmmaking, where every stitch tells a story, and every detail speaks of unparalleled creativity.

And now, I invite you to experience the magic firsthand. Behold our latest production, a cinematic short film brought to life in stunning HDR+SDR, accompanied by the immersive soundscape of Dolby Atmos. As you watch, let yourself be transported to a world where every stitch tells a story, and every detail speaks of unparalleled craftsmanship.

Enjoy the video in HDR with sound ON for the best experience:

I published this short production as an example of how fashion and cinematic storytelling can come together to create a truly captivating experience. I encourage all students to take the time to explore their own creativity and see where it can take them.
