A step further, from controlling the available light to create it as we like!

Through small portable flashes and studio lighting, this intermediate course will show you how to choose the most appropriate light source and how to position it to achieve the desired mood and feel.

Leaded by your tutor and shooting with professional models, you will gain confidence in using a range of lighting equipment, understanding different types of lighting (soft vs/ hard light) and various patterns (Paramount,  loop, Rembrandt, split, clamshell, etc.)

 

Course programme //

  • Continuous vs/ flash lighting // differences, advantages and disadvantages

  • Master the exposure // how to measure and control quantity and quality of light

  • The lighting tools // on/off-camera flashes, studio lighting and modifiers

  • The bouncing tools // reflective and absorbing surfaces

  • Lighting patterns // the art of shaping light & shadows

  • Mixing the light // when is necessary to combine different kinds of lighting

Duration: 4 hours (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM)

Level: Intermediate
